Playing the cards
Twelve four-card piles and a four-card talon begin play. Expose a talon card, place it beneath its rank pile, and carry that pile’s exposed top card to its own rank pile. Kings gather separately.
First plan
Follow the active card and its rank; the next source is the pile you just entered.
The chain can stop before every pile has four matching cards.
