About

One calm place for a hundred solitaires.

Solitaire.City started from a simple frustration: every other free solitaire site was cluttered with ads, dark-pattern notifications, and aggressive popups. We wanted somewhere quiet to play a game of Klondike.

What the site is

Solitaire.City is a browser-based collection of classic card games. Every game runs entirely in your browser — no downloads, no accounts, no tracking of personal data. You open the page, you play.

We cover over a hundred variants, from household names like Klondike, FreeCell, and Spider to lesser-known patience games like Crescent, La Belle Lucie, and Beleaguered Castle. Each variant has its own dedicated page with full rules, strategy guidance, and a playable board.

Our editorial approach

Every rule description and strategy article on this site is written by hand. We research historical sources, cross-reference multiple rule sets, and play each variant enough to give honest strategic advice — not boilerplate filler.

When rules vary by tradition or region, we say so. When a variant is genuinely hard to win, we say so. We would rather be accurate than optimistic.

Who runs this

Solitaire.City is an independent project. It is not backed by a games publisher or ad network. Advertising through Google AdSense covers hosting costs and keeps the site free for everyone.

No dark patterns

No push notifications. No “sign up to save your score.” No countdown timers designed to make you feel anxious. No fake difficulty curves. The games play the way the rules say they play.
