How Trefoil plays
Four Aces start on the foundations. The other 48 cards form sixteen face-up fans of three. Only top fan cards move; they build down in the same suit or advance a suit foundation. An empty fan cannot receive a new card.

Trefoil begins by moving all aces to foundations, then deals the remaining cards into sixteen three-card fans. Build foundations up by suit, build fans down by suit, and use two redeals when play stalls.
