Trefoil begins by moving all aces to foundations, then deals the remaining cards into sixteen three-card fans. Build foundations up by suit, build fans down by suit, and use two redeals when play stalls.

Starting with aces already moved gives immediate foundation traction, but the tighter sixteen-fan structure still creates strong blocking pressure.
Because there are fewer fans than standard La Belle Lucie, each transfer carries more risk. Favor plays that expose cards likely to reach foundations quickly.
