What is Relaxed Pyramid?
Relaxed Pyramid is a more forgiving version of Pyramid Solitaire with one key rule change: you only need to clear the pyramid itself to win — the stock and waste cards do not need to be removed. In standard Pyramid, all 52 cards must be cleared. In Relaxed Pyramid, clearing the 28 pyramid cards is sufficient for victory, regardless of how many cards remain in the stock or waste.
This removes the final requirement to pair away every remaining stock and waste card. It does not guarantee that the pyramid itself can be cleared.
How it changes strategy
In standard Pyramid, every stock card is a resource you may eventually need to pair with a pyramid card. Burning a waste card on a base-row pyramid pair is often a good trade because it clears one pyramid card. In Relaxed Pyramid, stock and waste cards are purely in service of the pyramid — their only value is as pairing partners for pyramid cards you still need to clear.
A waste card paired with a pyramid card removes one required card. Before using a complement, check whether another pyramid card may need it later. Waste-only pairs can still reveal a buried waste card that is useful for the pyramid.

Open the next blocked card
An upper card becomes available only when both cards directly below it are gone. Compare available pairs by which remaining blocker they remove. The second blocker can be more valuable than an unrelated easy pair.
Stock draws can bring needed partners into view, but a draw may cover the current waste top. Check current pyramid and waste pairs before advancing the stock.
