Variant strategy

Wasp rewards flexible column control.

Wasp is close to Scorpion, but empty columns accept any card. That extra freedom is your biggest edge when you use it to reveal cards and untangle suits deliberately.

Core Wasp tips

  • Treat empty columns as dynamic buffers: move blockers out, then rebuild suit runs in stronger order.
  • Use freer space rules to expose hidden cards quickly and reduce dead zones in the left columns.
  • Prefer moves that create multiple next moves rather than one immediate but narrow gain.
  • Do not burn all empty columns at once; keep at least one open for emergency reorganization.
  • When both moves look equal, choose the one that preserves King-led mobility for later.

Space is your main resource

The best Wasp players spend empty columns to reshape the board, not just to make one legal move. Preserve enough space to pivot when a suit chain gets blocked.

Common mistake

A common error is filling empty columns too early with low-impact cards. If a placement closes your maneuvering room, it can cost multiple future turns.
