Variant strategy

Beetle rewards suit discipline more than flashy movement.

Like Spider, Beetle lets you stack by rank regardless of suit, but only same-suit sequences travel cleanly. The real puzzle is turning temporary mixed piles into long movable suit runs before stock deals trap them.

Core Beetle tips

  • Use mixed builds only as temporary scaffolding for future suited runs.
  • Prioritize columns that can become long same-suit movers instead of many short messy stacks.
  • Empty columns are most valuable when they help sort suits, not when they simply hold a random card.
  • Before dealing from the stock, check whether one more cleanup move can improve multiple columns.
  • Notice which suit fragments are nearly connectable and steer exposed cards toward them.

Best early priority

Early on, identify two or three columns that can become your main suit-building lanes. Feeding those lanes consistently produces far stronger stock turns.

Common mistake

The classic Beetle mistake is building impressive-looking descending piles that cannot move as groups because the suits are scrambled.

Why players like it

Beetle is satisfying when you enjoy the gradual conversion of chaos into clean suit machinery.
