Variant strategy

Black Hole rewards careful branch management.

With no suits to worry about, the real puzzle is preserving rank adjacency across the whole layout. A move can be legal and still quietly kill your best future path.

Core Black Hole tips

  • Think in branches, not single plays, because every rank choice changes which piles stay reachable.
  • Protect bridging ranks that connect several visible pile tops instead of burning them for a tiny gain.
  • When two plays are available, prefer the one that reveals more fresh top cards.
  • Avoid tunnel vision on one pile if another line opens a larger network of future adjacency moves.
  • Use undo to compare lines when the board offers several similar-looking branches.

Best early priority

Open the board broadly. Early turns are strongest when they expose multiple new pile tops and keep both higher and lower rank routes available.

Common mistake

Clearing an obvious pile too quickly can waste the exact rank you needed as a bridge for several other blocked piles.

Similar skill

Black Hole and Golf both reward option preservation, but Black Hole punishes dead-end branches even more sharply because there is no stock stream to rescue a bad line.
